The Concept of Takehara Sea Station
Takehara city is situated right in the middle of southern Hiroshima Prefecture. It once prospered through its salt fields and alcohol industry, and since it faces the Seto Inland Sea, it has received all the blessings of the ocean. To promote the appeal of Takehara, the souvenir corner in the building has a lot of Takehara specialties, and you can also experience the local flavors at the restaurant on the upper floor.

The Ferry Wating Room
Located right next to the boarding platform for the ferry to Osakikamijima, you can look out at the ferryboats going to and fro. The ferry waiting roomis located on the first floor of the Sea Station. The AC is always on, so it’s a comfortable place to wait in summer and winter.
The Souvenir shop is on the same floor as the ferry wating room. In addition to Takehara products, they also have products made with the Hiroshima specialty of lemons, and all the usual souvenirs.
In the corner of the souvenir shop is the eat-in corner, where you can eat the food you’ve purchased from the shop. The shop sells drinks, as well as things like shaved ice, so if you get thirsty, it’s a great place to take a break.
View from The Terraced Deck
