Hiroshima International Animation Festival Recognized by the Academy Awards!
Hiroshima International Animation Festival is a film festival held once every two years in Hiroshima city.
It was created in 1985 as a project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the nuclear bombing, and is now one of the four most famous animation festivals in the world. The film festival is officially endorsed by the international animation festival organizing committee and the Academy awards. The 16th festival held in 2016 gathered 2,248 works from 78 countries and regions, and 33,129 people attended.
